Overhead Conductors
AAC, ACSR and AAAC aluminium conductors for overhead power lines.

Aberdare Cables has made power cable in South Africa since 1946, when it started in Port Elizabeth (now Gqeberha). It makes everything from low voltage house wire up to 132 kV high voltage cable, plus overhead conductors, mining trailing cable, earthing and fibre ground wire, at its factories in Pietermaritzburg, Gqeberha and Germiston. About 1,500 people work for the company, which also helps with cable design, installation support, commissioning and testing, and serves customers from service centres around the country and in Maputo.
