MCC line-ups designed and built in their own factory.

Controlgear is a Spartan, Kempton Park company that has built electrical switchgear and control systems since 1986. Together with its associated companies Instramac (control and instrumentation, since 1989), CGI Rwanda (since 2019) and CGI Installations (since 2023), it trades as CGI and offers full turnkey electrical, control and instrumentation (EC&I) solutions. Its own engineering team designs and manufactures motor control centres, mini-subs, distribution boards, cast resin transformers, MV and LV prefabricated substations, PLC panels, VSD and soft starter panels, and mild and stainless steel enclosures to SANS and IEC standards or to the client's specification. CGI also supplies switchgear, drives, automation products and instrumentation from leading international makers, and has worked on projects in South Africa and across Africa, South America, Australia and Europe.
