Deebar

Deebar is an electrical and mechanical engineering company in Hughes, Boksburg, founded in 1976 and celebrating 50 years in 2026. It designs, manufactures and supplies safety products for mining, power generation, petrochemical and manufacturing plants, with branches in Rustenburg and Stilfontein (Klerksdorp). Deebar helped pioneer electronic shaft signalling in South Africa, and its own Belltronic range of lock and call bell shaft signalling, monitoring and shaft station safety devices moves thousands of mineworkers underground and back every day. It also supplies and installs trapped key and safety interlocking systems (Fortress, Castell), lockout tagout hardware and Telux rotary cam switches, and was the first to order a Rail-Veyor bulk material handling system. A dedicated research and development team keeps the products current, and trained technicians do installations and maintenance contracts across the country.
